    OFFICE OF THE PRINCIPAL

    May 10, 2024

Dear North Augusta High School students, parents, and community members,

The leadership of the Aiken County Public School District has offered me the opportunity to become the district Director of Maintenance and Operations at the conclusion of the 2023-2024 school year.  After much prayer and consideration, I have accepted this opportunity.  The Aiken County School Board approved my hiring at this week’s meeting.

I love North Augusta High School, and it has been an honor and privilege to serve as your principal.  As a school community, we have shared accomplishments in academics, arts, athletics, and school construction.  These accomplishments are highlights of my professional career and provide me with immeasurable pride.  Without your excellence and dedication to our school, these achievements would not have been possible.  As most of you are aware, it has been my goal to complete the renovation and construction of our new school.  With the construction of our baseball and softball fields set to begin in May, our new school will soon be substantially complete.

Our school district leadership will immediately begin the process of selecting a new principal for our school. I trust that a great leader will be selected.  The students, families, administration, faculty, staff, and school facilities at North Augusta High School are outstanding.  Our school is poised for sustained success and great accomplishments in the future.  Please accept my most sincere thank you for the love, support, and encouragement granted to me during my tenure.  From our alma mater, “Thy praise I sing to, North Augusta.  My love abides with thee.”

    With gratitude,

    John Murphy
