Ms. Faith Barber
I am so excited and thankful to be the librarian at Millbrook Elementary School! I love supporting students and teachers in their quest to become more effective users and producers of information. I also love books, reading, integrating technology into learning, and creating. I believe that no read-aloud is complete without using different voices for characters and enjoy every opportunity to dress in costume for a theme or spirit day.
Prior to becoming a media specialist, I was an English teacher at South Aiken High School for ten years, where I also taught Teacher Cadets and Freshman Success and gained a passion for collaborating with others to optimize success for our students. During that time, I was named South Aiken Teacher of the Year and to the Aiken County Honor Court in 2009-2010. In 2014, I became the media specialist at J.D. Lever Elementary and was named their Teacher of the Year in 2018-2019 and was again named to Aiken County Public School's Honor Court. In 2018, I returned to South Aiken High School in the role of media specialist, bringing me closer to home and my family. However, I missed teaching younger students and moved to Millbrook in 2020-2021. I have previously served on the Aiken County Teacher Forum and the board of the ACIRA. I currently serve on the South Carolina Children's Picture Book Award Committee.
I have one daughter who is in middle school and am married to my husband of 19 years. When I am not at work or cheering my daughter on at dance, I enjoy working out and serving as a worship leader in Kidz Creek at my church.

I'm very happy and excited to be the media aide here at Millbrook! I have always loved reading and getting lost in a book, so being around books all day will be great! (I'm especially enjoying the picture books!) I am also the coach of the swim team at South Aiken High School.
I am originally from England and still go back to visit regularly. When I'm not at work I like to run, walk my dog Bane, or do things with my two young adult children.
